Varsity Management started in 1963 with a handshake deal between friends on a single property located in Ann Arbor.

Today, we are still a family-owned local small business. Operated by a second generation of University of Michigan alumni, now raising a third, we completely understand a student’s desire for quality housing at a good price in a great location.

Varsity manages 40 properties near University of Michigan Central Campus – ranging from restored Victorian homes to fully remodeled modern apartments.

Though the business itself has changed a great deal since we first opened our doors those many years ago, one thing has remained the same: our dedication to providing an exceptional housing experience that is always characterized by welcoming, personalized, and efficient service in order to maximize student success at the University of Michigan.

Sarah: Finance/Office Manager

Sarah has been with Varsity since 2008. With over 15 years experience she is our go-to for all the things. Sarah also handles all of the finance and accounting, if you have questions about charges on your account, or Accounts Payable, or even something out of the ordinary, she has your answers.

Atara: Project Manager

Atara has been with Varsity since 2016. She has excelled in several positions here at Varsity and has proven herself an essential asset. As Project Manager she is responsible for implementing, overseeing, and completing improvement projects. This is a massive undertaking for our mostly mid-century homes and apartment buildings. Linda: Leasing Manager

Linda has been with Varsity since 2022. She started with Varsity just to help us out part time at our Front Desk. She absolutely thrived here and has climbed to our full time Leasing Manager. If you're interested in renting or renewing, Linda will answer all of your questions, from concerns about City Leasing Ordinances to how much closet space you might want.

Kelsey: Leasing Consultant

Kelsey joined Varsity in 2024 and is quickly becoming a multitasker extraordinaire. Her friendly voice is likely the one you'll hear when you call, and you may even spot her out and about showing apartments in the spring.

Jon: Maintenance Coordinator

Jon has been with Varsity since 2018. He is a Varsity staple, starting out as a seasonal leader of our turnover crews during our most challenging time of the year. Jon has since taken on the hefty responsibility of managing our talented maintenance team. He is improving efficiency and effectiveness across the board.

Richard: Maintenance Technician

Richard has been with Varsity since forever. He has been maintaining our buildings for over 40 years! He knows the buildings like the back of his hand and treats each one of them as if they were his own. There isn’t a job that Richard can’t handle.

Gabe: Maintenance Technician

Gabe has been with Varsity since 2015. Gabe is our absolute go-to for any concern; he is reliable, competent, and completely dedicated to keeping all of our properties in tip top shape. Plus, his customer service skills are to die for.

Joe: Maintenance Technician

Joe has been with Varsity since 2019. Joe is always on top of it, he is organized, has an absolutely amazing memory, and an even better attitude. When he is assigned a complicated task he can be counted on to follow through to the end and do it with a smile.

Brian:

Brian is new to Varsity in 2024. He comes to us with 13 years of maintenance experience and is learning about our properties quickly. Brian loves the Red Wings and he has an awesome beard, so obviously we're big fans already!

Samantha: Grounds Maintenance

Sam joined Varsity in 2023. She has been keeping the exterior of all 38 of our properties tidy, which is no small task. In the spring she'll begin planting native annuals and perennials to beautify our landscaping, which requires a lot of watering and upkeep in the summer, leading to a fall "Welcome Back!" to all of our student residents.
